1. Welcome
Welcome back to "The Success Files". The personality of this E-Zine
continues to expand and respond to the needs of my clients. As you
will see, there is more business and marketing oriented content
offered now. As a construction industry specialist, I am keenly
aware of the issues facing General Contractors, Trade Contractors,
and their vendors. These are many of the same issues most entrepreneurs
face in this country. A major construction industry magazine
is publishing my business articles. The Most recent article outlines
7 specific ways to ensure long-term success in your business. Whether
you are in the construction industry or not, you can apply the strategies
I outline in this article in your business.
2. Quick Tip
Quick question - How do you keep your best employees? Answer:
"Employees do not leave companies, they leave managers and supervisors".
In fact salaries, wages and compensation benefits are not the primary
reasons many employees stay at their company. The work atmosphere,
the camaraderie of fellow employees and their managers, and
the continuing personal development opportunities are the primary
reasons employees remain at a company. When these innate needs are
met, employees tend to be much more productive, profits increase
and there is a greater level of customer satisfaction.
3. Success Pillar # 7 By Paul Montelongo
Authenticity. The last of the 7 Pillars for Success is by
no means any less important than the other 6 pillars. In fact,
it is the one that brings all of the others together in unity
in order for you to realize a level of comfort with your success.
Authenticity simply indicates that you should be yourself. Be
real. This means knowing your strengths and weaknesses. It means
you know how to use your strengths in ways that create an attractiveness
about you and that serves others. It means acknowledging that your
weaknesses need some more work and that you are willing to do this
work. Authenticity means that you are genuine and natural
in the way you interact with others. It also means that you
are very comfortable with who you are and your experience
in life. You understand, acknowledge and embrace your uniqueness.
There is a lot of talk these days about being authentic. I suppose
you are the only one that really knows if you are authentic. Authenticity
allows you to move through life with a sense of ease and purpose.
4. "Book Ends"
To date, I have not recommended an author more than once. Usually,
I attempt to get a wide variety of ideas from many sources. I am
going to give a "double high-five" for this issue's book recommendation.
Thomas J. Winninger has recently released a new book called Full
Price - Competing on Value in the New Economy". If you want to create
real value for your product or service and stand apart from the
competition, you must read this book. Winninger draws from his own
work with some the world's most successful companies to help you
conquer the enormous challenges and realities of the increasingly
competitive marketplace. http://www.winninger.com.
